There is a critical need within the Maasai community for a safe house and rescue center for the women living in their tribe. The safehome will provide protection for many young girls and prevent child trafficking. According to Chief Joseph, the Maasai leader, “This project targets to offer services to 60 school children at the Olmaroroi School who are enrolled between 9 & 17 years old.” Additionally, “The project will also help to enhance, embrace, and educate communities of the importance of girl child right issues and help to alleviate global poverty and health problems caused by illiteracy and lack of education.”
Together as a school community, Jefferson Township Public Schools & Durga Tree International desiresto make a lasting impact in the Great Rift Valley province of Kenya, by providing financial support to construct a safe home will ensure sustainability for the Maasai people.
